The Men's Basketball Team returns 5 of its 7 top scorers including leading scorer DeWhon McAfee who poured in 15.9 a game last season.

Former player and 2 time All-American here at Spalding, Tim Gray, will be joining the Men's Basektball staff for the first time.

This years basketball team does not have one Senior listed on the roster.

 


SLIAC ANNOUNCES 2009-10 MEN'S BASKETBALL AWARD WINNERS
ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has announced the men’s basketball All-Conference Teams and award winners for the 2009-10 season. Highlighting the award winners were Eureka College's Michael Zasada and MacMurray College's Brady Slagle.

Zasada is the 2010 SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Year and a First Team All-SLIAC selection. He is a three-time All-SLIAC recipient and led the conference in scoring this season with 24.1 points per game. He also ranked second in the conference in rebounding with 9.8 boards per game
Slagle has been named the 2010 SLIAC Newcomer of the Year. He averaged 14.1 points per game in conference play this season, while shooting 86-of-164 (.524) from the field and grabbing 4.5 rebounds per game.

Westminster College's Matt Mitchell and MacMurray College's Todd Creal are the 2010 SLIAC Co-Coaches of the Year. It is the second consecutive year that Mitchell has earned the honor and the it is the first time for Creal. In his 12th year at the helm of the Blue Jays' program, Mitchell led his squad to a 13-3 conference record and their second consecutive regular season conference championship. Creal is in his third year as the head of the Highlanders program and led his squad to an 11-5 conference record and a second place regular season finish.

DeWhon McAfee was the lone Spalding player to get acknowledged in the all-conference discussion.  DeWhon was selected as a first team all-conference player.  DeWhon finished the season averaging 20.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game.  McAfee is a sophomore from Louisville, Kentucky.  He played his high school basketball at Butler HS.
