Men’s Basketball Heading to Las Vegas

Men’s Basketball left today to play in the D3hoops.com Classic in Las Vegas, Nevada. While in Las Vegas the Golden Eagles will play two games at the South Point Hotel and Casino.

The Golden Eagles first game is December 28th at 5:00pm against the Hanover College Panthers. Hanover College is a liberal arts institution overlooking the Ohio River in Hanover, Indiana, and members of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. The Panthers Head Coach is Jon Miller. Miller has guided Hanover to a 6-2 record this year. Hanover is averaging 66.1 points per game, led by senior center Mike Case’s 15 points and 8 rebounds per game. The Lancers are coming into the game against Spalding riding a three game win streak.

The Golden Eagles second game is December 29th at 5:00pm against the University of La Verne Leopards. La Verne is a small university located in La Verne California on the eastern Edge of Los Angeles County.  La Verne University is a member of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Leopards Head Coach is Rich Reed. Reed has coached La Verne to a 3-5 record this season. The Leopards are averaging 69.1 points per game, led by senior forward Trevor Woodland’s 17.9 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. La Verne is heading into the D3 Classic looking to rebound from an 86-44 loss to Cal State Fullerton.
