Lady Golden Eagles Hoop and Surf Preview
Women’s Basketball will be leaving Saturday to play in the Hoop N Surf Tournament in Honolulu, Hawaii. While in Hawaii, the Lady Golden Eagles will play two games in the Kilauea Recreational Center, and get some much needed fun in the sun during the wintery month of December.
The Lady Golden Eagles first game is December 18th at 6:00pm against the Worcester State Lancers. Worcester State is a public institution located on the west side of Worcester, Massachusetts and members of the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference. The Lancers Head Coach is Karen Tessmer. Tessmer has guided Worcester State to a 4-4 record this year. Worcester is averaging 58.1 points per game, led by senior guard Kaleigh Charette’s 13 points and 8 rebounds per game. The Lancers are coming into the game against Spalding riding a three game win streak.
The Lady Golden Eagles second game is December 19th at 4:00pm against the George Fox University Bruins. George Fox is small Christian university located in Newberg, Oregon and members of the Northwest Conference. The Bruins Head Coach is Michael Meek. Meek has coached George Fox to an 8-0 record this season. George Fox is averaging 72.8 points per game, led by 6’5 junior center Hannah Munger’s 14 points and 10 rebounds per game. The Bruins are looking to maintain their undefeated season when they take on Spalding Monday.
